The two minute guide
You do not need to be a gambler to use this site. You need one rule, one word, and a little discipline. Here they are.
The two minute tour: how to read a pick, set your budget, and use the whole site, narrated start to finish.
The one rule
Your bankroll is money you have set aside for betting and can lose without it changing your life. Not rent. Not the credit card. If losing all of it would hurt, it is too big. Decide that number once, before you look at a single pick, and never add to it to win money back.
The one word: units
Every pick on the picks page carries a tag like 2u. A unit is 1% of your bankroll. That is the whole secret language.
This number stays on your device. Type it once and the picks page shows every unit tag in your dollars automatically. Prefer to think in "I have $200 for tonight"? The picks page also has a TONIGHT'S BUDGET mode that splits a set amount across the card by edge. It works, but it puts everything in play every card: if you bet more than once in a while, the bankroll way is what survives.
Who decides the size?
The brain does. When our probability beats the market's price by a lot, the tag is bigger. Small edge, small tag. No edge at today's price, no tag, and no tag means pass, even when we still think the fighter wins. The sizing method is called quarter Kelly: a formula that grows a bankroll when you have a real edge and, run at one quarter strength, keeps a cold night from doing real damage. We cap every pick at 3u so no single fight can hurt you. You never have to calculate anything: bet the tag, in your dollars, and you are doing what professional bettors do.
Take the best price
The same bet pays differently at different sportsbooks. Every pick shows a best: tag naming the book paying the most right now, and an expandable row with every book we track. Taking the best price costs nothing and adds up to real money over a year. It is the easiest edge in gambling and most people skip it.
What losing looks like
We will have losing nights. A pick at 70% loses three times in ten, and sometimes those losses bunch up. That is not the system breaking, it is probability doing what probability does. The unit sizes above are built so a bad card stings and a bad month is survivable. What actually breaks bankrolls is the response to losing: doubling the next bet to catch up. Never do that. The tag is the tag, win or lose. Our own results, good and bad, are graded in public on the record forever, so you can see the losing stretches for yourself.
The short version
- Pick a bankroll you can afford to lose. Once.
- 1u = 1% of it. Bet the tag on each pick, nothing more.
- No tag on a pick means pass.
- Take the price at the best: book.
- Losing nights are normal. Never chase them.
- Log your bets on my bets so the math, not your memory, tells you how you are doing.
